What We Do

Native American Program

Legal Aid of Nebraska’s Native American Program Program is a group of attorneys and paralegals providing dedicated free civil legal assistance to Native Americans either living in Nebraska or having a legal issue pending in a tribal, state, or administrative court located in Nebraska. Native American Program attorneys are licensed to practice law in Nebraska and in the Omaha, Ponca, Winnebago, and Santee Sioux Nation tribal courts. The Native American Program also accepts court appointments in criminal cases filed in tribal court.

The Native American Program supplements the free civil legal assistance provided to Native Americans by other units at Legal Aid of Nebraska.
