Before you rent: Heartland Disaster Help can provide practical and actionable guidance, giving everyone the power to make informed choices about where to live and how to stay safe before, during and after disasters, completely free of charge. While several states have adopted varying forms of flood-risk or flood-damage disclosure requirements, no state currently requires landlords to inform renters if a property has been affected by other natural disasters such as wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, or winter storms.
