OMAHA, NE – Today, Legal Aid of Nebraska announced that they raised over $50,000 last month to provide free civil legal assistance to low-income and vulnerable people in Nebraska.
Supporters from across the state successfully unlocked a $15,000 match fund provided by six Equal Justice Partners to Legal Aid, which included Champion Sponsor Woods Aitken, Baird Holm LLP, Husch Blackwell, Hightower Reff Law, CFO Systems LLC, and InfiNet Solutions, Inc. Their May fundraising efforts included local giving days, with nearly $20,000 raised from Give to Lincoln Day.
Legal Aid of Nebraska serves low-income Nebraskans who cannot afford an attorney. They support all 93 counties in the state with issues like domestic violence, elder abuse, financial abuse, unlawful evictions and debt collection, and benefits denials.
“Thanks to our donors, we can reach more Nebraskans and provide quality, free, and accessible legal assistance to vulnerable individuals and families,” said Laurie Heer Dale, Legal Aid of Nebraska Executive Director. “We are very proud to serve our communities and overwhelmed with gratitude for our partners!"
